Wooden abstract sculpture by British artist Brian Willsher (2001).
This was one of Willsher’s later works with a playful stilted form, strikingly different to much of his earlier pieces.
A similar piece was included at the Margaret Howell ‘Brian Willsher Sculptures’ exhibition which presented twelve works from Willsher’s personal collection.
As with all Willsher’s work, this sculpture is handcrafted through a process of cutting each piece of wood on a bandsaw, from his home studio in South East London.
Signed in pen and dated to the base.
In good vintage condition — there is a small indent to the top and some minor surface wear and patina reflective of age, although these do not detract from the beauty of the piece.
