A large ceramic bowl (c.1985) by French ceramicist Annie Fourmanoir.
A raw and tactile unglazed clay surface with curved cut sides and a hand etched triangular pattern to the inside.
Annie Fourmanoir, now in her nineties, continues making and teaching from her studio in Paris.
Throughout her career Fourmanoir's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across France and beyond. Most recently she has had pieces exhibited at Lemaire’s Parisian flagship as part of their AW '23 collection, a testament to the timelessness of her work.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. Incised with the artist’s initials ‘AFG’ to the base.
