An abstract bronze sculpture (c.1970) by Danish artist Christian Lymann Hansen.
Two parts cast from solid bronze — interlocking geometric forms, with contrasting tones and textures. Hansen’s sculptures explore the interconnectedness of shape and form, inviting playful interaction — which this tactile work perfectly encapsulates.
Originally trained as a painter, Hansen shifted toward abstraction after working as an assistant to Danish concrete artist Paul Gadegaard, whose Constructivist murals and geometric compositions influenced Hansen’s sculptural language.
His work has been exhibited and held in public collections across Denmark, where he is recognised as a cultural figure.
Both parts are marked with numbers on the base — a system consistent with other documented works by Hansen. The sculpture is unsigned.
In very good vintage condition, with some age-related oxidation to the bronze, which adds character to the piece.
