A beautiful pair of candle holders (c.1980) by Scottish sculptor David Marshall.
Cast in aluminium and brass with one larger than the other, they make a wonderful irregular pair.
David Marshall’s pieces are distinctively recognisable for his signature contrasting metals and playful organic form.
This pair are an early production — the imperfections to the metal, slightly tarnished surface and colour irregularities add to their charm. These older pieces are always highly desirable because of how beautifully they age.
These are in good vintage condition, with a lovely patina they have some colour irregularities and a few small imperfections to the metal surface.
