An antique patchwork quilt (c. 1900) in red, orange, sand and white, sourced from America.
Painstakingly handcrafted, and lovingly cared for and cherished for over a century.
The design consists of a repeating 'basket' pattern, framed by a thick stripe border and finished with a red edge binding — the stripes are imperfectly straight, adding to its folky charm.
Topped all over with subtle ornate stitching, in thread with a hint of blue.
Very good condition for its age (120+ years) with some age related wear — notably some colour fading and the odd faint age spot. Nothing which detracts from the beauty of this piece.
