Betty Blandino Ceramic Bowl
Betty Blandino Ceramic Bowl
ON HOLD
Ceramic bowl by British ceramicist Betty Blandino (1927–2011).
Handcrafted using a combination of pinching and coiling techniques to create an asymmetric silhouette.
This is a beautifully tactile piece, with a textural unglazed body in bone-white clay, contrasted by a delicate hand-painted line around the rim in a deep brown.
A Goldsmiths graduate in painting and ceramics, Blandino had a piqued curiosity about clay's potential for creating sculptural forms — a defining characteristic of her work, along with a distinctly ethereal, delicate nature. Her work is well celebrated, exhibited at institutions such as the V&A and recently at The Hepworth Wakefield.
Impressed with the artist’s mark on the base.
In excellent vintage condition.
