Large ceramic sculpture by British ceramic artist Jane Blackman.
A beautiful tactile piece — chalky white and lightly textured, with a curved organic form, contrasted by defined edges and a deep opening — the edges casting shadows and the curves capturing the light.
A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Blackman went on to set up her own studio upon graduation, funded by a Crafts Council award. Her work was exhibited at galleries in London beyond, although her career remains elusive and her work rare to come by.
This piece was likely one of her early pieces (early 2000s) as she went on to incorporate painting into her work and producing vessel forms.
