Matthew Hilton 'Brâncuși' Candle Holders

Large sculptural candle holders (c.1990) by British designer Matthew Hilton for SCP.

They are cast from solid aluminium and have substantial weight and height — beautiful as both abstract sculptures and functional candle holders.

The design for these was inspired by Constantin Brâncuși's ‘Bird in Space’ sculptures, emulating their elegant and minimalistic form.

Hilton designed a number of iconic candle holders for SCP, yet this Brâncuși inspired design is rarely seen.

They are in good vintage condition — both pieces have some pitting to the metal, which gives a nice patina. They also have some surface scratches and a few minor dents, however these do not impact their beauty.

Both with the artist's signature etched to the base.
